Marcella Vogt, 84, of Nevada, IA, formerly of Haverhill, IA, passed away Monday, April 9, 2018, at Sunny View Care Center in Ankeny, IA. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 13, 2018, at Anderson Funeral Homes, 405 W. Main St., Marshalltown. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Anderson Funeral Homes. Interment will be at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown. Marcella was born August 3, 1933, to George and Fern (Sears) Johnson in Woodburn, IA. She graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1951. Marcella was united in marriage to Kenneth Vogt on May 7, 1955, in Marshalltown. She was employed at Marshalltown Family Physicians for 30 years. Marcella was a long-time member of the Van Cleve United Church of Christ. She enjoyed baking cookies, flower gardening, and cross stitch. Marcella loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Marcella is survived by her husband, Kenneth; a son, Mark (DeAnn) Vogt of Ankeny, two daughters, Julie (Steven) Ritland of Hubbard, IA, Lori (Edward) Clement of Overland Park, KS; six grandchildren, Lindsey (Kyer) Robinson, Allie (Phillip) Sherman, Kelli (Dewey) Nibe, Nick (Kadie) Ritland, Abby Clement, Joel Clement; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Beverly (Larry) Swaim of Sun City, AZ, and Pam (Rick) Peterson of Ankeny. Marcella is preceded in death by her brother, John Johnson.

I'm so happy to have gotten to know Marcella and Kenny. She was such a generous , kind and happy lady. Everyone in our church loved both of them. My prayers, sympathy and love to Kenny and all the family. She was such a special lady and we know God will welcome her with open arms.

So very sorry to here of Marcella’s passing. Sending prayers for her family. She was always a joy to be around, loved her endless smiles. She will be missed by so many. I remember the time several girls went to there lake home for a weekend we had so much fun.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I worked with Marcella at Family Physicians and McFarland Clinic years ago. She was one of the kindest women I have ever known. She was so much fun to be around, always laughing and making others feel good. She will surely be missed.
