Duane, So sorry to read the passing of wife, Barb. May she rest in peace. I did not know Barb but I know your whole family from my parents (Short & Wanda Billman) and your parents bowling together.
Pat Billman Huber
Duane and family you have our deepest sympathy. Had a great time growing up thru high school with Barb, Judy and Rollin. Being neighbors on the farm we got together sometimes, but work always came first for our families. Remember that Barb and Duane had to stop on our road sometimes after a date. Don't know why! Ralph & Karen (Booth) Rosenberger
Duane and Brent. We were sorry to hear about your loss. I knew Barb for so may years and so many ways. From the basketball court and the classroom back in Gladbrook to the Chapel Cemetery every year when I spent time remembering my family. She was so lovely both inside and out. She touched many lives in a positive way and will be sorely missed. Jim & Peggy (Eckhart) Griffin

Sincere sympathy to Barb’s family and also to her many friends. Our connections started many years ago in our youth in Gladbrook. (I was closer in age to Judy.) How fortunate I was to reconnect with Barb years later at Iowa Valley. She was such a bright light and blessing to so many of us. She’s resting in heaven now, and will always be remembered.
A great person from a rock solid family that was always ready to help. Since childhood, attending the same church and school, I have always known Barb. She will be missed. Mark Kogle

I have many great memories of Barb, way back to when she was our babysitter! I will remember her pleasant smile and always a minute to visit (at MCC). Thoughts to her family.. Audrey
To: Rollin, Judy, Duane, and Brent; In the coming days you will hear many stories from people of how Barb positively touched their lives and how grateful they are. You'll also hear from other people who won't share the reasons why they are so very grateful for her life as well. Probably more than you'll ever know. I hope you can find some comfort in that.
Duane and Brent....I am heartbroken for you. I am so blessed to have had her as a friend. So many wonderful memories ...especially of our antiquing road trips. Her passing will leave a huge whole in my life. You will be in my prayers. Rest in peace, Barbie Lou

Bike, so sorry to here of Barbs passing.
Duane, Brent and Susan, and dear grandchildren, We all have so many rich memories of days when Barb was involved in our lives and activities. I learned so much from her when we worked together on behalf of the MCC Foundation. I treasure those memories and know that what she taught and modeled for me were worth more than gold. There are many adjectives to describe her -- the first that comes to mind is gracious -- she was the epitome of graciousness! Memories and tears -- we're all sharing them with you. Lorraine Schultz
Duane and Brent, Sending you sympathy and prayers are you grieve Barb's passing. I was shocked when a friend shared that news as I am out of town. Gene and I knew her as a great educator in family and consumer science with Marshall County Extension and Outreach Service. She shared so much with families in Marshall County and was a good influence with the 4-H members in their formative years of learning. Joann Neven and Gene too.
I am so sorry to hear about Barbs passing, I worked with her at MCC , she was great to work with and we shared lots of good times, there was nothing she thought couldn't be done. Will miss her.
My prayers go out to Duane and family.

I am greatly saddened to hear of this. Barb was my friend from Iowa Valley. We had so many lunches out together & such laughter. She was a positive spirit in my life. She never forgot to send me a birthday card, I couldn’t figure out for a few years how she knew. Well, duh! She had access to the entire IVCCD staff :) We shared stories of our children’s big events, graduations, marriages, babies, etc. She was so proud of Brent’s family & so loved Duane. I will remember her smiling face.
Sympathies to your family from the Barbara Club. We always enjoyed her uplifting presence and laughter at our gatherings. Plus she always brought a delicious creative dish to our potluck! Barb Hawkins
